Paint my portrait

Most recent portrait to use of me, but feel free to use anything else you've got.

This could be fun. I came up with this idea and have few details except that I think it would be fun. Maybe keep the dimentions at exactly 8″ x 8″ in case a lot of people are interested in this. The idea would be to get 20 or 30 or 40 portraits, you send me yours of me, then I get a gallery show and I compare them with the what I painted of you as a barteri, then I send you your portrait after it’s over. Even if you can’t draw or paint, you’ll have the opportunity to potentially possibly perhaps have a gallery show and become famous (not guaranteed at all).

All this, and I want some practice painting quick portraits.

All you have to do is use my profile photo or any other photo of me you can find that looks like me and we’ll get this started.

Who’s in?

The portrait style would probably be loose like the cat painting at the bottom of my portrait page, but will look like you! Portraits by Gabe.

Here’s a tease to the first portrait I painted.

I want to play how do I sign up?

  2. Tad says:

Does it have to be paint? And does it have to be of you? Can I do a pencil drawing of my cat instead and send that? My cat looks like you a little bit.

  3. Gabe says:

Yes, it has to be me, and I’m thinking yours will be you, or maybe a cat that looks like you. Perhaps I’ll do a cat project next. It doesn’t have to be paint. Just 8″ x 8″ so it looks cool when there are a ton together hanging in a swanky Scottsdale gallery. I’ll send e-mails out to whoever replies with my personal e-mail so you can send a photo, or I’ll just snag one I like off your facebook.

I am going to talk to my three year old daughter about this one, I think she will be up for giving it a shot. She is a great arteest. We will work on this one!

  6. Jaime says:

Hey, are you still doing this painting thing? Am I too late?

  7. Gabe says:

It’s a little fizzled out. I’ve done one, only because I only got one photo emailed to me.

  8. Tori says:

Hey I am almost done with yours sorry it has taken lo long I should have it to you soon. do you want the actual piece or a scan?

  9. Gabe says:

Ha, I’d love to have the original.. I’ll send yours to you too! I think the plan on doing a bunch of them fell through, so whatever.

  10. Allison Wald says:

What a beautiful painting of Tori. We should trade paintings. I would love for you to paint me (how much?)

  11. Gabe says:

How much??? It’s an even trade! I’ve really slacked on the idea of this project, but I’m hoping to get 8″x8″ portraits of me painted in trade for the same thing.

  12. not Arantxa Sánchez Vicario says:

i would love for you to paint me too, but i fear the toxic effects of paint all over my body.

  13. Wen says:

Aidan and Jared would totally be up for painting you. I have a great candid photo of the three of us in exchange.

  14. Kati says:

I don’t fear paint…I’ve been working mostly 3-D so it would be nice to brush up with some paint. I’ll try to see what pics I have of you tucked in my AAC photo binder. let me know if you’re still doing this project.

  15. Gabe says:

Yeah, I need to totally start this project back up. I really want to make it like I intended, where I paint all the portraits, and collect all the portraits of me at the same time, have a gallery show, and then you can have yours I painted of you.

  16. Farah says:

Hey are you still doing this? I’d love you to !

  17. Gabe says:

Yeah, I’m going to start this back up as a project but changed up maybe a little!
